Karen and Mark Logan created the Katrina Cooler™ using lumber recovered from New Orleans houses that were impacted by Hurricane Katrina.The Katrina Cooler was born from a desire to repurpose these old growth and hardwood building materials in such a way as to honor the homes and neighborhoods that make New Orleans one of the most unique cities in world.
Each cooler can be attributed to a house that was either renovated or torn down in New Orleans. The wood for this particular cooler came from a shotgun double located at 810 & 812 Hidalgo in Homedale (near Lakeview Playground). Karen and Mark, along with their business partners, are currently renovating this wonderful structure and look forward to seeing it once again become someone's home.
